Hi hello hej
A life update and concert invite ….
So the last two years I have been living in Copenhagen and studying Masters at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory. This Wednesday 18th I perform my final graduation concert with a terrific band and a whole set of brand new music. Copenhagen peeps, would love you to come along :)
I have spent the last 6 months in my cph cave pondering life and writing a bunch of new music and I am really looking forward to sharing it with the world! This new music is a reflection on how different places shape us…. for me this meant leaning into parts of my history (think aussie accent and grand pianos) and soaking up influences from life at RMC (autotune-y pop, sampled loops and some classic cph midi guitar) - all coming together to form somewhat of a musical ‘self-portrait’ if you will….
Feeling very lucky to have made lovely connections with these amazing musicians and fab friends who will be joining me on stage:
Janus Bagh (bass), Malthe Kaptain (trumpet/flugelhorn), Gintė Preisaitė (keys/piano), Nick Roder (guitar/backing vocals) and Laura Møller Madsen (backing vocals). Yours truly on vocals/keys/piano/samples. It’s gonna be dope!
Wednesday 18th June
21.25 (I suggest arriving by 21.00 to get a seat)
Room A118 at Rhythmic Music Conservatory, Leo Mathisens Vej 1, Copenhagen
You can read more about my concert on the RMC website here.
The concert is part of the graduation festival happening at RMC for the next two weeks - there are many amazing artists performing and I suggest coming early and checking out the whole program - all free and open to the public :)
In other news, I am moving to London in July and will be living my best post-study life. Hit me up if you have hot tips/want me to play on your music/write some music together/play a show etc. I am all ears.
Sending love to all of you in these turbulent times.
Lena xx
